Abstract:Objective: To develop a Knowledge-Attitude-Practice (KAP) questionnaire on dietary management for patients with stoma after colorectal cancer surgery, providing a scientific evaluation tool for assessing patients" knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to dietary management. The properties of the questionnaire were assessed in 404 patients with stoma after colorectal cancer surgery from 37 hospitals in Hubei Province, and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were assessed. Results: The questionnaire involved three dimensions: knowledge, attitude, and practice, with 37 items totally. The content validity index S-CVI/Ave was 0.946, the Cronbach"s α was 0.977, the split-half reliability was 0.906, and the test-retest reliability was 0.989. Conclusion: The KAP questionnaire on dietary management for patients with stoma after colorectal cancer surgery demonstrates good reliability and validity, making it suitable for measuring the levels of knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to dietary management after stoma surgery.
