Abstract:Objective: To explore the current situation of death anxiety in patients with chronic heart failure and analyze its influencing factors. Methods: 332 patients with chronic heart failure were investigated using the general information survey form, Death Anxiety Scale (DAS), Self-Esteem Scale (SES), Herth Hope Index (HHI), and Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS). Results: The total score of death anxiety in patients with chronic heart failure was (7.20±1.87) points, with 189 cases of high death anxiety (≥7 points), accounting for 62.79%; Multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender, age, heart function classification, self-esteem, total score of hope, and total score of perceived social support were the main influencing factors of death anxiety, which could predict 53.5% of the total variation. Conclusion: Patients with chronic heart failure are generally at a high level of death anxiety, and most patients have a high level of death anxiety; medical staff should pay special attention to female, young, and patients with high heart function classification of chronic heart failure, and strive to improve patients" self-esteem, hope, and perceived social support levels, thereby reducing their level of death anxiety.
