This article reviews the research progress related to care dependency in elderly patients with multimorbidity from four aspects:the concept of care dependency, measurement tools for care dependency, influencing factors of care dependency in elderly patients with multimorbidity, and intervention methods to reduce care dependency in these patients. It aims to increase nurses′ attention to the care needs of elderly patients with multimorbidity, take measures to reduce their care dependency, and improve their quality of life.
