Illegitimate tasks are a prevalent issue in nursing profession, which encompass unnecessary tasks and unreasonable tasks. This study examines research on illegitimate tasks in nursing, clarifies their conceptual definition, specific manifestations, and influencing factors (individual level, team and interpersonal level, system and organizational level). It also puts forward coping strategies, aims to provide references to optimize nursing practice environment and improve nursing quality.
