Abstract:Objective To systematically review the factors influencing the transition from adolescence to adulthood in individuals with eating disorders, and to provide a basis for developing targeted interventions. Methods To systematically review the factors influencing the transition from adolescence to adulthood in individuals with eating disorders, and to provide a basis for developing targeted interventions. Results A total of 12 articles were included, from which 43 findings were extracted.These were categorized into 12 categories and further synthesized into 3 overarching themes:patient-related factors, family and social factors, and healthcare environment factors. Conclusion The transition from adolescence to adulthood in individuals with eating disorders is influenced by multiple factors.Healthcare professionals should implement comprehensive and personalized interventions, facilitate the development of a healthy self-identity, collaborate with caregivers to provide adequate support, and optimize the transition process to promote a successful transition into adulthood.
