Abstract:Objective To explore the intervention effects of "3-PR" participatory health education on postoperative patients with inferior alveolar nerve injury. Methods Patients with various types of postoperative inferior alveolar nerve injury who were treated in our hospital were selected and divided into a control group (n=51) and an intervention group (n=53) according to their treatment time. The control group received routine health education, whereas the intervention group received "3-PR" health education, which was based on participatory research (PR), centered on participatory role-playing (PR), and reinforced by participatory review (PR).Anxiety scores, degree of inferior alveolar nerve recovery, rate of active follow-up visits, and satisfaction with health education were compared between the two groups after the intervention. Results After the intervention, the anxiety level of the intervention group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05).The degree of inferior alveolar nerve recovery, rate of active follow-up visits, and satisfaction with health education were significantly higher in the intervention group than those in the control group (all P<0.05).Conclusion Implementation of "3-PR" participatory health education effectively alleviated patients′ anxiety, improved satisfaction, and promoted postoperative rehabilitation.
