Abstract:Objective To explore the level and factors associated with humanistic care experiences among outpatients attending obstetrics and gynecology clinics, and to provide references for developing targeted measures to improve the quality of nursing care in outpatient settings. Methods Using convenience sampling, 4,512 outpatients attending obstetrics and gynecology clinics from 64 hospitals in 25 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) were surveyed with a general information questionnaire and the Outpatient Humanistic Care Experience Questionnaire. Results The average score of humanistic care experience among obstetrics and gynecology outpatients was 4.34±0.55. Monthly household income, payment type, whether the hospital conducted follow-ups, and satisfaction with outpatient processes were identified as influencing factors of humanistic care experience (all P<0.05), which could explain 19.4% of the total variance. Conclusion The humanistic care experience of outpatients in obstetrics and gynecology clinics is at a moderate to high level, with multiple influencing factors. Managers should implement comprehensive measures to reshape the whole-process caring service for these patients and improve their healthcare experience.
