Abstract:This article reviews the concept and assessment tools of ageism, as well as the current status and influencing factors of ageism among nursing interns. It offers intervention strategies to improve ageism among nursing interns, including integrating ideological and political elements into teaching, strengthening education on aging knowledge, carrying out simulated experiential teaching, and increasing the positive intergenerational contact between nursing interns and the elderly. In the future, it is necessary to develop culturally adapted tools assessing ageism in nursing interns in China, explore effective intervention strategies, and enhance the positive cognition and attitude of nursing interns towards the elderly.
