Abstract:Objective To develop a gatekeeper suicide prevention training program in general hospitals, and to provide a reference for general hospitals to carry out gatekeeper training for non-psychiatric nurses′ suicide prevention practice. Methods Based on Question, Persuade, and Refer, the draft of gatekeeper suicide prevention training program in general hospitals was developed by literature research and semi-structured interviews, then 20 experts from 5 provinces were invited to complete two rounds of expert consultation. Results The response rate of experts was 90.91% in round 1 and 100% in round 2, the expert authority coefficients were 0.882 and 0.923, respectively, and the Kendall′s coefficients of Concordance were 0.131-0.214 in round 1 and 0.331-0.445 in round 2 (all P<0.05). The training program included 5 first-level indicators (entry requirements, training contents, training objectives, training methods and effect evaluation), 15 second-level indicators, and 112 third-level indicators. Conclusion This gatekeeper suicide prevention training program is scientific, which can be used for non-psychiatric nurses in general hospitals.
