Objective To develop an expert consensus statement on nursing management of intrathecal drug delivery systems (IDDS) for cancer pain, and to provide reference for standardizing clinical care. Methods Recommendations were formed through literature review and group expert discussion, then consensus was reached through expert consultation.Results The expert consensus included nursing assessment and priorities of care before implantation, nursing cooperation during implantation, monitoring and care post implantation, IDDS compatibility assessment during diagnosis and treatment, IDDS maintenance and self-management at home. Conclusion This consensus statement is comprehensive and can provide guidance for clinical nurses and patients to use IDDS.
