Abstract:Objective To summarize the nursing experience of caring for monkeypox patients, and to provide reference for clinical nursing and protection.Methods Anti-symptomatic and supportive treatment was provided for 31 patients with monkeypox.Mild cases were primarily treated with fluid infusion, nutritional support, skin lesion care, oral hygiene, and analgesic therapy, while those with secondary bacterial infections were systematically treated with antibiotics. Nursing priorities were observing patient′s condition changes, implementing symptomatic care for fever, rash, pain, etc., preventing secondary skin infections and other complications, and paying attention to the patient′s psychological condition and giving psychological care.Results After these treatments and care, no patient had developed serious complications, and they were hospitalized for 1-17 d, with a median of 7.0 d.Conclusion During the treatment and nursing process, nurses should actively adopt individualized and supportive nursing measures, update knowledge on monkeypox treatment and care in a timely manner, master the relevant knowledge, thus to provide scientific and effective nursing care.
