Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of digital storytelling combined with U-learning model in clinical endocrinology nursing education.Methods Seventy-eight nursing students practicing in the endocrinology department were divided into a control group of 38 and an intervention group of 40.The control group was given usual mentoring, while the intervention group additionally received digital storytelling intervention combined with U-learning model.The effectiveness of teaching was evaluated after 4 weeks of intervention.Results One student in the intervention group dropped out.There were significant between group differences in comprehensive examination performance, theoretical teaching quality, satisfaction with teaching, ability of comprehensive nursing intervention for diabetes patients, diabetes health literacy, and self-regulation ability during clinical nursing practice (all P<0.05).Conclusion Digital storytelling combined with U-learning model applied in clinical endocrinology nursing education can improve quality of clinical teaching, resulting in enhancing nursing students′ comprehensive diabetes care ability, diabetes health literacy, and self-regulation ability during clinical nursing practice.
