Abstract:Objective To summarize the best evidence of multi-sensory stimulation therapy in hospice care for terminally ill patients and provide a reference for end-of-life care. Methods According to the "6S" evidence pyramid model, literature on multisensory stimulation of terminally ill patients was systematically searched from domestic and foreign databases, guideline websites and professional association websites from January 2003 to November 2023. After literature screening according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, two researchers conducted quality evaluation, evidence extraction and summarization of the included literature. Results A total of 15 publications were included:1 guideline, 3 clinical decision supports, 2 evidence summaries, 1 expert consensus report, 7 systematic reviews, and 1 randomized controlled trial. Twelve pieces of evidence were summarized from two dimensions of environmental management and sensory stimulation. Conclusion The best evidence of multi-sensory stimulation therapy for terminally ill patients can serve as a guide for medical staff to develop personalized nursing plan for terminally ill patients.
