Abstract:Objective To summarize the best evidence for aerosol delivery in mechanically ventilated adult patients and provide gui-dance for nursing practice.Methods A literature search of UpToDate, Guidelines International Network, Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence Synthesis, PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, and MedGuides Network was conducted through January 2013 to November 2023.Results A total of 16 articles were included.Thirty pieces of evidence were summarized and categorized into eight aspects: preparation, tool selection, nebulizer placement, parameter setting and mode selection, nosocomial infection prevention and occupational protection, equipment maintenance and management, drug use management, and adverse events.Conclusion The summarized best evidence for aerosol delivery in mechanically ventilated patients can be used as a reference guide for clinical nursing.
