Abstract:Objective To systematically review the qualitative research on factors influencing interaction between supervisors and graduate students in China, and to provide a reference for nursing graduate education.Methods Qualitative studies on factors inf-luencing interaction between supervisors and graduate students were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, JSTOR, ProQuest, CNKI, WanFang Database and VIP Database from inception to August 2023.The quality of the literature was evaluated using the JBI critical appraisal checklist for qualitative research, and data were analyzed using meta-aggregation.Results A total of 14 studies met the criteria, 36 research results were extracted, 10 new categories were summarized and 3 integrated results were obtained.Factors affecting student-supervisor interaction included supervisor′s motivation, competence and personality traits; student′s motivation, competence, personality traits and interpersonal relationship; and external factors such as research team, school system and social factors.Conclusion Student-supervisor interaction is affected by the supervisor, the student, and environmental factors.Multidimensional interventions should be conducted to achieve harmonious relationship between supervisors and graduate students, thus to ensure quality of nursing graduate education.
