Abstract:Objective To design and implement board games for the Health Assessment course and explore the learning experience of nursing students. Methods Using purposive sampling method, 12 nursing undergraduates who participated in board games were interviewed by semi-structured method, and the data were analyzed by content analysis method. Results A total of 2 themes and 7 sub-themes were extracted:learning effect (enhancing learning motivation, consolidating learned knowledge, enhancing teamwork, and understanding course-based ideology and politics education) and learning feedback (increasing the difficulty of the game, unreasonable rules, and hoping to expand the scope of application). Conclusion Board game based learning achieves positive results. However, it needs teachers to optimize the rules of the game to render it more fun, clarify the reward mechanism to encourage students to participate, and extend the scope of application by combining online and offline approach.
