Abstract:Objective To develop an immersive VR emergency trauma nursing training system, and to observe its preliminary application effect. Methods The immersive VR emergency trauma nursing training system consisted of teacher terminal, management terminal and student terminal. Then it was applied in standardized training of trauma first aid cooperation. The training effect and the feelings of the trainees were evaluated through examination and interviews. Results Totally, 44 trainees participated in the training. After training, the trainees had significantly higher scores in such post-traumatic care contents as preliminary assessment, comprehensive assessment, patient transfer and diagnosis discussion, than those subjected to traditional training method (all P<0.05). Results of interviews with 8 trainees showed that, the system was novel, could deepen trainees′ understanding of the profession; it saved resources and increased practice opportunities to make emergency trauma nursing training more efficient; it could help nurses experience multiple roles, which was conducive to team cooperation. Conclusion The immersive VR emergency trauma nursing training system can improve trauma training effect of emergency nurses.
