Abstract:Objective To review the literature on advance care planning (ACP) in stroke patients and to determine the research status of ACP in the field of stroke.Methods Following the methodological framework for scoping review, we searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang, VIP, and Chinese Biomedical Li-terature Database from the database inception to 18 May, 2023.Results A total of 14 articles were included.Nine studies investigated the rate of engagement in ACP among stroke patients, and five studies analyzed the influencing factors.Stroke patients′ engagement in ACP was relatively low and affected by demographic variables, disease-related factors, social support and psychological factors.There was no consensus reached on the impact of ACP on clinical decision-making.Conclusion The research and clinical application of ACP in stroke patients have not received sufficient attention, requiring further studies to clarify influencing factors and assess implementation effectiveness.
