Abstract:Objective To translate the OsloMet Adherence to medication Survey tool-37 (OMAS-37) into Chinese, and to examine its reliability and validity. Methods Through translation, back-translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and pilot survey, the Chinese version of the OMAS was developed and a questionnaire survey was conducted in 442 patients on medication therapy to analyze the reliability and validity of the Chinese version. Results Through exploratory factor analysis, we extracted 10 common factors out of the Chinese version of the OMAS, with the cumulative variance contribution rate being 69.327%.The Cronbach′s α coefficient was 0.849 for the whole scale, and ranged 0.824-0.934 for the dimensions. The Spearman-Brown split-half coefficient was 0.835.The item-level content validity index (CVI) for the 33 items ranged 0.850-1.000, the S-CVI/UA value was 0.818, and the S-CVI/Ave was 0.970.Results of confirmative factor analysis showed that, χ2/df=1.506,TLI=0.958,CFI=0.918,IFI=0.966,RMSEA=0.037. Conclusion The Chinese version of the OMAS has good reliability and validity and is suitable for the assessment and measurement of medication adherence in patients with non-specific diseases in China.
