Validity and reliability of the Chinese version of the Standalone mHealth Apps Usability Questionnaire for Standalone mHealth Apps-Patient Version in older adults
Objective To sinicize the English version of the mHealth App Usability Questionnaire for Standalone mHealth Apps-Patient Version (MAUQ-SP) and evaluate its validity and reliability in older adults. Methods The expressions of the Chinese version of the MAUQ-SP were determined through translation,back translation and cross-cultural adaptation. Totally 403 elderly people were recruited for questionnaire survey. Results The Chinese version of the MAUQ-SP includes 18 items. Findings from the exploratory factor analysis revealed that 3 factors including ease of use, interface and satisfaction, and usefulness were extracted and explained 89.166% of the cumulative variance.In validated factor analysis,the three-factor model fitted the data well. The System Usability Scale was used as the calibration standard,and the calibration standard correlation validity was 0.636.The Cronbach′s alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.979;the split-half reliability was 0.919,and the test-retest reliability was 0.974. Conclusion The Chinese version of the MAUQ-SP has been proved to be reliable and valid, and is suitable for older adults to evaluate the usability of standalone mHealth applications, which can provide a reference for future development and implementation of mHealth services.
