Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of "Children′s Class" health education model in pediatric ward. Methods A children′s class was established in the pediatric ward to provide children and their caregivers with health education. The compulsory courses included Internet plus learning, AI and robotics-based teaching, and face-to-face education, while the elective courses consisted of psychological counseling, reading, interest-oriented class and special class. Before and after the implementation of children′s class, 150 children and their families were selected to compare their satisfaction and awareness of health education. Meanwhile, the medical staff involved were asked to comment on the program.Results After the implementation, the satisfaction of children and their families and the knowledge about illness were significantly improved (all P<0.05). Medical staff positively appraised the intervention. Conclusion The application of "Children′s Class" health education model in the pediatric ward can improve satisfaction of children and their families, and their awareness of diseases. It also enhances nurses′ capability of health education.
