Abstract:Objective To construct a project management model for volunteer service in love for children school in a general hospital, and to explore its effect. Methods A love for children school was established in pediatric ward of hematological diseases in a general hospital . The school rolled out a volunteer service program through a 3-level linkage of society-hospital-department, and formed a three-roles linkage model that involved the participation of medical volunteers, social volunteers and medical social workers. The model pushed forward innovative management of voluntary services. Results From December 2002 through June 2020, 17 800 volunteers partook in school activities serving more than 45 000 counts of children with hematological diseases. Over 40 000 leukemia children participated in the courses and activities provided by the school. Conclusion The project management model for volunteer service in love for children school provides a good reference for severe disease relief system, continuing education and social adaptability of children with leukemia.
