Objective To explore the strategy and effect of advancing humanistic care in cooperative hospital. Methods We designated expert nurses to instruct the cooperative hospital how to implement humanistic care: setting up humanistic care organization framework, formulating humanistic care standards and regulations, strengthening nursing management and service concept, implementing humanistic care training, conducting humanistic care in pilot wards, supervising and standardizing humanistic care. Results Twelve wards were selected as the first batch of pilot study sites. Nurses′ caring ability was significantly improved after the intervention (P<0.01), and patients′ satisfaction with humanistic care and nurses′ job satisfaction were gradually enhanced. Conclusion Advancing humanistic care in cooperative hospital inspires nurses to provide humane caring for patients and also inspires nursing managers to give caring for nurses, thus to enhance patient satisfaction and nurses′ caring ability and job satisfaction.
