Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of structural and psychological empowerment on job crafting of community nurses, and to provide theoretical basis for community care services improvement. Methods A total of 216 community nurses were investigated with the Job Crafting Scale, Conditions of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire-Ⅱ, Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire. Results The community nurses scored (57.75±8.59) points in job crafting, (47.12±10.93) points in structural empowerment, and (36.85±4.77) points in psychological empowerment respectively. The total and dimension scores of structural empowerment were positively correlated with job crafting totals, likewise the total and dimension scores of psychological empowerment with job crafting totals(P<0.01 for all). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that 3 dimensions (support, opportunity and informal power) out of structural empowerment, and 2 dimensions (meaning and impact) out of psychological empowerment conspired to influence job crafting of community nurses(P<0.01,P<0.05). Conclusion Community nurses′ job crafting need to be improved. Community health service managers should take targeted strategies to improve community nurses′ job crafting from the perspective of structural and psychological empowerment.
