Abstract:Objective To explore the experience of clinical teachers regarding implementing process evaluation for master degree candidates from a nursing specialties degree program, and to provide the basis for improving the evaluation system of clinical ability of MNS. Methods With the use of phenomenological method, 10 clinical teachers were included in semi-structured interviews,and data were analyzed by Colaizzi′s seven-step method. Results Four themes emerged:theme 1,clinical teachers generally know the importance of process evaluation; theme 2,the forms of process evaluation come in a variety of ways;theme 3,there are still problems in the implementation of process evaluation by clinical teachers; theme 4,there were many factors that hindered the implementation of process evaluation by clinical teachers. Conclusion Measures which include delivering targeted training plan to clinical teachers, attaching great importance to students′participation in evaluation, improving process evaluation related incentives and constraints mechanism, serves as an important direction to smooth implementation of process evaluation and to improve the evaluation system for master degree candidates.
