Abstract:Based on a full understanding of humanistic nursing for the elderly in China, we discuss its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats from four aspects: political, economic, social, and technological, and propose that geriatric humanistic education has the role in improving professional awareness, stimulating students′ interest in learning, and stabilizing the talent team of geriatric nursing in China. In the future, humanistic nursing education for the elderly should make full use of traditional culture of respecting and filial piety in China, further improve the theoretical framework of geriatric nursing, and gradually build an integrated and comprehensive humanistic teaching quality evaluation system.
