Objective To explore the feasibility and effectiveness of creating a child life nurse position, and to provide reference for training and management of child life nurse. Methods We formulated duties and rules for child life nurse, selected and trained nurses to be child life nurse. Then those who passed the examinations provided child life services. Results From 2019 to 2021, the number of activities undertaken by child life nurses was 15-28, and the number of interventions aimed at medical procedures was 15-34. Child life nurses also prepared 18-32 play kits. Twenty wards in the hospital have provided child life services up to 2021, which effectively improved parents′satisfaction, and alleviated children′s stress and parents′ anxiety. Conclusion Creation and management of the child life nurse position facilitate the implementation of child life services in clinical practice, thereby maintain children′s psychological health, reduce parents′ anxiety, and improve their satisfaction.
