Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of giving pulmonary rehabilitation training based on Swanson′s caring theory to patients undergoing radical resection for lung cancer. Methods A total of 104 patients to received radical resection for lung cancer were divi-ded into 2 groups of 52 cases each based on the periods they were hospitalized. The control group were subjected to routine pulmonary rehabilitation training, while the intervention group to a pulmonary rehabilitation training program that was developed based on Swanson′s caring theory. The lung function indexes, and trust in nurse-patient relationship were compared between the two groups after intervention. Results A total of 93 patients completed the study. After the intervention, there were significant diffe-rences in the 6-minute walk test score, and trust score in nurse-patient relationship between the two groups ( all P<0.05). Conclusion Pulmonary rehabilitation training based on Swanson′s caring theory can improve patients′ trust in nurses, which is conducive to postoperative rehabilitation of patients.
