Abstract:Objective To develop nursing-sensitive quality indicators for enterostomy care and to provide reference for evaluating and monitoring enterostomy care quality. Methods Literature search for relevant evidence-based studies was performed, followed by literature review and group discussion by the research team. Two successive rounds of Delphi surveys were conducted to reach consensus and define nursing-sensitive quality indicators for enterostomy care. Results Two rounds of Delphi surveys each had 100% questionnaire response rate. The expert′s authority coefficient values were 0.898 and 0.908, respectively, and the Kendall W coordination coefficients ranged from 0.189 to 0.239 in round 1 of expert evaluation and were between 0.215-0.258 in round 2 (all P<0.05). After round 2, an indicator set was established, including 3 primary indicators, 6 secondary indicators and 22 tertiary indicators. Conclusion The quality indicators developed in this study were scientific and comprehensive, which could be used in quality control of enterostomy care.
