Abstract:Objective To develop an applet for continuous health management of discharged patients with pancreatic diseases, and verify its usability. Methods Based on the comprehensive integration of extended care and interface presentation needs of patients with different pancreatic diseases through literature research, patient interviews and medical professionals′ interviews, we designed and developed an applet for extended health management of discharged patients with pancreatic diseases. The applet includes three main modules of medical service, message center, and my health, and 15 sub-modules such as online consultation, extended nursing, health classroom, scale evaluation, information reporting, and abnormal symptoms, etc. Results A total of 567 patients and their caregivers have completed the registration since the applet was put into use, and it was used once every 3 to 7 days, about 10 minutes each time. There have been 153 health consultation questions. The scores of usability and learnability of the applet for discharged patients with pancreatic diseases were (30.31±1.68) and (7.56±0.62), respectively. Conclusion The applet is both easy to learn and usable, which can promote the whole process of high-quality nursing, diversify the health education, facilitate information collection, make communication between doctors and patients in real time, and improve the quality of life of continuous care for patients.
