Objective To translate and revise the Healthcare Provider Perceptions of Team Effectiveness Questionnaire(Provider-PTE), and to test its reliability and validity. Methods The Brislin translation model was used to translate and back-translate Provider-PTE, which was later subjected to Delphi consultation and a pilot survey for further adjustment and revision. Then the questionnaire was used to survey 615 healthcare providers, and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were tested. Results There were 26 items in the Chinese version of Provider-PTE. Five common factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 82.175%. The average content validity of the questionnaire was 0.942, and the content validity index for the items ranged between 0.800 and 1.000. The Cronbach′s α coefficient of the Chinese version of Provider-PTE was 0.872, and the test-retest reliability coefficient was 0.858. Conclusion Chinese version of the Provider-PTE has good reliability and validity. It can be used as a simple tool to evaluate the effectiveness of medical teams.
