Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of LEARNS model based health education on elderly patients with hypertension. Methods Eighty elderly hypertensive patients were randomly and evenly divided into 2 groups. The control group received conventional health education, while the intervention group received LEARNS model based health education. The knowledge level, treatment adherence, and satisfaction rate with health education were compared between the two groups after the intervention. Results After the intervention, knowledge scores, treatment adherence rate, and satisfaction rate with health education in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05,P<0.01). Conclusion The implementation of health education through the LEARNS model can improve the knowledge level, treatment adherence, and satisfaction with health education among elderly patients with hypertension.
