Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of running a training workshop regarding ICU-acquired frailty for new nurses in emergency department. Methods A total of 54 new nurses joining in standardized training in emergency departments in August 2020 were assigned into the intervention group, who were subjected to a training workshop regarding ICU-acquired frailty, while another 55 counterparts in August 2019 were assigned into the control group who received traditional teaching method. Students′ exam scores and satisfaction with the training mode were compared between the two groups. Results After the training, the scores of written and skill exams, and case analysis exams and satisfaction degree with training mode in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01 for all). Conclusion Training workshop improves the knowledge and skill level of ICU-acquired frailty among new nurses in emergency department.
