Abstract:Objective To investigate self-transcendence status of undergraduate nursing students and to analyze its influencing factors. Methods A total of 441 undergraduate nursing students from three tertiary hospitals in Kunming were selected to fill out the Self-Transcendence Scale, Psychological Self-Reliance Scale and Achievement Motivation Scale. Results The total score of self-transcendence was (46.15±6.00) in the students.The results of regression analysis showed that, the main influencing factors of self-transcendence of undergraduate nursing students were familial place of residence, attitude towards nursing specialty, psychological self-reliance and achievement motivation, which accounted for 45.3% of the total variance of self-transcendence of undergraduate nursing students. Conclusion Self-transcendence of undergraduate nursing students was at moderate to high level, and there is still room for improvement. Schools and internship hospitals can improve self-transcendence level of undergraduate nursing students through cognitive intervention, self-reflection, mindfulness training, etc.
