Abstract:Objective To carry out continuous nursing care for children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) on the cloud follow-up platform, and to evaluate its effect. Methods The cloud follow-up platform was revamped to embrace follow-up modules and functions dedicated for IBD children. Then home-based family centered continuous nursing care which integrated information technology and high quality nursing resources was provided to IBD children. Results A total of 66 children had registered to use the cloud follow-up App, and they had added 525 inputs of height and body weight, 11 095 inputs of diets, 233 inputs of physical exercises, and 119 inputs of sleep, into the App.The nurses completed 2 003 push notifications on IBD knowledge which was grouped into 14 aspects, and 1 509 (75.34%) notifications were read by the children and their families. Conclusion Cloud follow-up platform is able to provide systematic, standardized, and convenient family centered home-based continuous nursing care for IBD children, and serve as a disease management tool.
