Abstract:Objective To investigate the application and management status of infusion alarm devices in mainland, so as to provide reference for standardizing clinical application and management of infusion alarm devices. Methods A total of 119 511 nurses from 31 provinces and autonomous regions were selected by convenient sampling method, then they were investigated using a self-designed questionnaire on application and management of infusion alarm devices in health institutions via electronic survey. Results Totally 9.91% participants had used infusion alarm devices. Infusion alarm devices used in hospitals or departments were bought from diverse sources, 7.36% devices were not equipped with certificate and 7.60% without instruction manual.About 32.00% departments did not develop application or management rules for infusion alarm devices, and did not train medical staff. More than 90% participants were willing to use infusion alarm devices, and considered that standardized management rules should be constructed and training should be provided. Conclusion There was a lack of unified application and management rules of infusion alarm devices in clinic. In order to standardize its application and management, it is necessary to establish management mechanism and develop related rules and operation regulations, to improve the quality of infusion nursing and ensure patients safety.
