Objective To develop nursing-sensitive quality indicators for the evaluation of clinical nursing quality in the nephrology department in Beijing. Methods Nursing-sensitive quality indicators were identified through evidence-based literature review, then 30 experts were invited to complete two rounds of consultation and face-to-face discussion. Results Twenty-six nursing-sensitive quality indicators were identified. The questionnaire return rate was 85.71% in round 1 and 100% in round 2. The average authoritative coefficients Cr for the two rounds were 0.80 and 0.81 respectively. After two rounds of expert consultation, the coefficients of variation were between 0.02 and 0.22, and the Kendall W values anged from 0.26 to 0.52. Conclusion Nursing-sensitive quality indicators in the nephrology department are scientific and operational, which can be used for evaluation and monitoring of nursing quality in the nephrology department.
