Objective To explore the level and associated factors of symptom burden among convalescent stroke patients, and to provide reference for targeted intervention. Methods A total of 393 convalescent stroke patients were selected using convenience sampling and were surveyed in terms of their symptom burden. Results The mean score of symptom burden was 2.08±0.73 and the dimension scores listed in descending were:physical and self-care ability, gait abnormality, psychological symptoms, pain symptoms, slurred speech and fatigue, and cognitive function. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, with or without spouse and disease duration were influencing factors of symptom burden among convalescent stroke patients （P<0.05,P<0.01）. Conclusion Stroke patients during the convalescent phase experience severe symptom burden, especially in physical and self-management domain as well as abnormal gait. Patients with older age or shorter duration of disease, and those without spouse report more severe symptom burden, and should be paid attention by medical staff.
