Abstract:Objective To explore the experience of human papilloma virus (HPV) infected patients in childbearing age, so as to provide reference for developing targeted psychological intervention measures. Methods A qualitative study was conducted using semi-structured one-to-one interview and focus group interview among 12 continuous HPV infected patients in childbearing age, and Colaizzi seven-step analysis method was used to analyze the interview data. Results Four themes were extracted: deficiency of know-ledge source, emotional response, change of sexual relationship, and sense of imbalance between life and work. Conclusion The HPV infected patients in childbearing age suffer from heavy psychological stress, which has a negative impact on marriage, family and social relationship in particular. Medical staff should guide patients and their family members to eliminate the misunderstan-ding of HPV infection, improve patients′ negative emotion, help them return to family, work and society, then promote family harmony and protect reproductive health of the women.
