Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of a supportive telecare information platform for esophageal cancer patients during their transitional period. Methods Eighty patients were randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group of 40, receiving either routine nursing care or transitional care using a self-designed supportive telecare information platform. Self-efficacy, quality of life and nutritional indicators of the two groups before and 3 months after the intervention were compared. Results The intervention group had higher cancer self-efficacy, quality of life and nutritional indexes compared with the control group after 3 months of intervention (P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusion Implementing whole-process comprehensive management for esophageal cancer patients by using the supportive telecare information platform can effectively improve patients′ self-efficacy, quality of life and nutritional status.
