Abstract:Objective To translate the English version of the Healthcare Professional Humanization Scale for Nursing (HUMAS) into Chinese, and to provide a tools for accurately evaluating Chinese nurses′ humanization nursing ability. Methods Principles of scale introduction were complied with strictly, and the Brislin translation model was utilized to translate the English version HUMAS into Chinese, then a total of 420 clinical nurses were investigated to test its reliability and validity. Results The I-CVI of the Chinese version HUMAS was 0.830-1.000, its S-CVI was 0.937. Five common factors were extracted using exploratory factor analysis, with a cumulative contribution rate of 82.271%. The results of confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the model had a satisfactory goodness-of-fit, χ2/df=4.124, RMSEA=0.086, NFI=0.919, IFI=0.938, TLI=0.923, CFI=0.937. The total cronbach′s α coefficient of the scale was 0.851, each dimension′s cronbach′s α was 0.734-0.866; the split-half coefficient of the scale was 0.829, and of each dimension was 0.734-0.866; the retest reliability coefficient of the scale was 0.928, and of each dimension was 0.706-0.924. Conclusion The Chinese version HUMAS has good reliability and validity, which can be used to evaluate the humanization nursing ability of Chinese nurses.
