Abstract:Objective To reduce reproductive concerns for young gynecological malignant cancer patients. Methods Totally 50 young gynecological malignant cancer patients were divided into a control group and an intervention group using random number table, with 25 cases in each group. The control group received basic health education, while the intervention group received fertility consultation and education intervention by multi-disciplinary team. The Reproductive Concerns After Cancer (RCAC) scale and a self-made cancer-related fertility knowledge questionnaire were utilized to evaluate the two groups before the intervention and 1 month, 3 months after the intervention. Results The group effect, time effect and group×time effect were significant on the score of cancer-related fertility knowledge; and the group effect, time effect and group×time effect were significant on the total RCAC score and its subscale score of pregnancy preparation, spouse awareness, acceptance, pregnancy ability, own health and children health(P<0.01 for all). Conclusion Fertility consultation and education intervention can improve the level of cancer-related fertility knowledge in young gynecological malignant cancer patients, and alleviate their reproductive concerns.
