Abstract:Objective To explore nursing management strategies regarding emergency treatment for trauma patients during COVID-19 outbreak. Methods The emergency department took the following measures to optimize the emergency treatment for trauma patients during COVID-19 outbreak: the emergency surgical area was renovated; a management team for COVID-19 prevention and control was set up; knowledge training based on clinical needs was carried out; emergency treatment process of trauma was modified; safe transportation of patients was carried out; protection of medical staff was stepping up. Results As of March 31, 2020, 644 trauma patients were treated, of which 45 had severe trauma, 28 were suspected or confirmed infection cases. No cross-infection of medical staff and patients happened. Conclusion It is paramount to pay close attention to COVID-19 pandemic, take scientific measures against outbreaks, optimize the policies and work process flows, implement draconian quarantine measures, in a bid to ensure timely and effectively treatment of trauma patients and prevent cross-infection in the hospital during the epidemic.
