Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of nursing research self-efficacy and perceived organizational support among nurses in a children′s hospital, and to analyze their relationship, so as to provide reference for improving the nurses′ research self-efficacy and optimizing research management scheme. Methods A total of 491 nurses from a children′s hospital were investigated using a general information questionnaire, the Nursing Research Self-Efficacy Scale and the Organizational Support Scale. Results The nurses′ total average score of nursing research self-efficacy was (2.50±0.97), their total mean score of perceived organizational support scale was (3.17±0.94). The total score and subscale scores of the nursing research self-efficacy significantly and positively correlated with the score of perceived organizational support scale (P<0.01 for all). Conclusion The nursing research self-efficacy of nurses in children′s hospital needs to be improved, their perceived organizational support is insufficient, and the two variables correlates with each other. Hospitals and nursing administrators should pay attention to the role of perceived organizational support, so as to improve the nurses′ research self-efficacy.
