Abstract:Objective To strengthen temperature management for preterm infants after birth, and to effectively reduce the rate of hypothermia for preterm infants in NICU. Methods A nursing project management team for temperature management of preterm infants was set up, a NICU centered multidisciplinary cooperation nursing model was constructed, and the standardized interventions were formulated, the working instruction on temperature management for preterm infants was compiled, then an electronic quality tracking table for temperature management of preterm infants was established, and the key monitoring indicators were identified, lastly the nursing project management was conducted including all staff participated standardized training, etc.Results After the nursing project management, the hypothermia rate of preterm infants in NICU decreased from 47.76% to 19.51% (P<0.01). Conclusion The nursing project based on multidisciplinary cooperation controls hypothermia for preterm infants according to its key nodes, thus it could reduce the rate of hypothermia for premature infants effectively.
