Abstract:Objective To develop a precise follow-up protocol and to explore its application effect in patients with metastatic castrated resistant prostate cancer(mCRPC). Methods Sixty-four mCRPC men with bone metastasis were equally randomized into a control group and an intervention group, receiving either conventional follow-ups or precise follow-ups provided by a multidisciplinary team. Effect was evaluated after 6 months of intervention. Results The incidence of bone related adverse events was 9.38% in the intervention group and 28.12% in the control group, but without significant difference between them (P>0.05). The total and dimension scores of quality of life except social/family dimension were significantly higher, whereas pain intensity, pain impact and pain belief were significantly lower, in the intervention group compared with the control group (P<0.05,P<0.01). Conclusion Implementation of precise follow-ups in mCRPC patients with bone metastasis can alleviate pain intensity, reduce bone related adverse events and improve quality of life of patients.
