Abstract:Objective To enhance management quality of health education in department of urology. Methods A total of 359 surgical patients were assigned into a control group of 182 and an intervention group of 177 chronologically. The control group was subjected to routine health education, while the intervention group received health education guided by the health education management process, including building a health education management team, developing a manual for health education, designing and implementing health education management process. Results Patients in the intervention group showed higher health related knowledge and satisfaction with health education compared with the control group (P<0.01 for both). Nurses′ ability of health education and theoretical knowledge were significantly improved after implementing the health education management process (P<0.01 for both). Conclusion Implementing health education management process can standardize nurses′ behavior of health education, and improve their health education ability and theoretical knowledge of urology, thus to enhance patients′ health related knowledge and satisfaction with nursing service.
