Abstract:Objective To investigate the reproductive concerns among young female patients with thyroid cancer, and to explore the influencing factors. Methods A cross-sectional survey involving 212 young female patients with thyroid cancer hospitalized in 3 grade-three hospitals in Beijing was conducted using a demographic questionnaire, the Reproductive Concerns After Cancer scale(RCAC) and the Patient Health Questionnaire 9(PHQ-9). Results The total score of RCAC was (65.73±12.36) among the young female cancer patients.Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that education levels, number of children, childbearing intentions, use of 131I treatment and depression levels were contributing factors of reproductive concerns (P<0.01 for all). Conclusion Young female patients with thyroid cancer had relatively high reproductive concerns, which was mostly affected by depression levels.Targeted mental guidance should be carried out by medical staff to relieve their reproductive concerns.
