Objective To evaluate the effect of innovative practice based on the conceivedesignimplementoperate (CDIO) educational framework on improving innovative ability of new pediatric nurses. MethodForty new pediatric nurses graduated in 2017 were involved in innovative practice training that was guided by the CDIO educational framework. Critical thinking ability and innovative ability were evaluated before and after the training. ResultsNurses′ critical thinking ability and innovative ability were significantly improved after the training (P<0.01 for all). ConclusionInnovative practice training guided by the CDIO educational framework contributes to cultivating critical thinking ability and innovative ability of new graduate nurses in pediatric department.
