Abstract:Objective To explore the qualifications, contents and forms of nurse prescribing of cardiovascular medications in tertiary hospital. MethodsThe list of cardiovascular medications that can be prescribed by nurse was concluded after literature review, then a tworound expert consultation was conducted with 30 medical and nursing experts using the Delphi method. ResultsMedications that could be prescribed by nurse for a single cardiovascular disease were classified into 7 categories, totaling to 93 types, of which 64 were within protocols, 22 were independent or within protocols and 7 were independent. The qualifications of nurses who could be authorized to prescribe cardiovascular medications included 10 years of work experience in cardiovascular department of tertiary hospital, with bachelor′s degree in nursing education and with intermediate professional title. The response rates of two rounds of expert consultation were 83.33% and 100%, respectively; and the authority coefficients of the expert were 0.85 and 0.90. ConclusionThe qualifications, contents and forms of nurse prescribing in cardiovascular medications are reasonable, which can provide references for authorizing nurses to prescribe medications in cardiovascular department.
